Can PMU be applied to anyone?

Permanent makeup (PMU) can be applied to most people, but there are certain exceptions and precautions to consider. Not everyone is an ideal candidate for PMU, and the treatment can be influenced by a person’s health condition and skin type. It’s important to inform your technician in advance if you have any of the conditions listed below.

Individuals Who Need to Be Careful or May Not Be Suitable for PMU:

– Pregnancy or Breastfeeding: PMU is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential risks to the baby.

– Diabetes: People with diabetes, especially if not well-controlled, may experience slower healing and a higher risk of infection.

– Autoimmune Disorders: These conditions can complicate the healing process and may affect how well the pigment holds.

– Allergies to Pigments or Anesthetics: It’s crucial to disclose any known allergies to the pigments or anesthetics used in the procedure.

– Skin Conditions in the Treatment Area: Conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis can negatively affect the outcome and may cause complications.

– Blood Thinners: Individuals on blood thinners may bleed more during the procedure, which can impact pigmentation and healing.

– Keloid Formation: If you are prone to keloid (excessive scar tissue) formation, PMU may not be suitable for you.

– Immunosuppressive Therapies: People undergoing treatments that suppress the immune system, such as chemotherapy, are at a higher risk for complications. ### Importance of Medical Consultation If you have any of these conditions, it’s a good idea to consult a doctor before undergoing PMU. A thorough consultation with a qualified specialist is essential to ensure the procedure is both safe and effective, with your health and desired outcome in mind.

Is a touch-up necessary?

For optimal results, a touch-up is highly recommended. After the first session, the pigment can lose up to 70% of its color. This occurs because the skin partially rejects the pigment during the healing process and is still undergoing recovery.

Reasons for a Touch-Up:

– Color Fading: After the first treatment, the pigment gradually fades. This is completely normal and expected. The touch-up helps to refresh the color and ensure longer-lasting results.

– Color Correction: Sometimes light spots can appear after the first session because the pigment may not have been evenly absorbed. During the touch-up, the specialist can fill in and correct these areas.

– Shape Adjustment: The first treatment is often a cautious approach to determining the shape. In the touch-up, the specialist can make minor adjustments to the shape and symmetry.

– Pigment Absorption: For certain skin types, like oily skin, the pigment may not absorb as well. In this case, a second session is essential to achieve the desired result.

How to take care of PMU?

After each PMU treatment, you’ll receive aftercare instructions. To ensure long-lasting and beautiful results, it’s very important to follow these instructions correctly.

Lash Lift Aftercare To ensure the best results, follow these aftercare tips:

1. Avoid Water and Steam: For the first 24-48 hours after your lash lift, avoid getting your lashes wet. This includes swimming, hot showers, and steam rooms. Water can weaken the lift and affect the outcome.
2. Skip Mascara and Eyelash Curlers: Avoid using mascara or eyelash curlers for at least 24 hours after the treatment. Mascara can weigh down your lashes and interfere with the lifting process.

3. Use a Gentle Cleanser: When you do wash your face, use a gentle cleanser that does not contain oils or harsh chemicals. This will help avoid any irritation or damage to the lifted lashes. 4. Avoid Oil-Based Products: Steer clear of oil-based makeup removers and skincare products around your eyes, as they can break down the lift and affect the longevity of the treatment.
5. Avoid Rubbing Your Eyes: Be gentle when touching or cleaning around your eyes. Rubbing or pulling on your lashes can weaken the lift and cause damage.
